Automated testing reliably catches 30 to 50 percent of WCAG success criteria. These need a human - run them before you call a page done.
- Alt text meaningDoes the wording describe the image's purpose, not just that one exists?
- Reading orderDoes the content make sense when read top to bottom by a screen reader?
- Keyboard operationCan you reach and use every control with Tab and Enter alone?
- Focus visibilityCan you always see where keyboard focus is as you move?
- Video captionsAre captions present and accurate, not auto-generated gibberish?
- Link clarityDoes each link make sense out of context, without "click here"?
